Achieving something requires work. Either you're doing the work, or you're helping someone else do the work. Either way, growth is growth. I want to see you grow and achieve, and I'll do my very best to help you get there, because that's what we're here for. We're not here for ourselves, but for what we can give to others.

A war without a strategy cannot be won. Then it is merely a battle where more lives are lost than necessary.

But that was the most dangerous part, as well as the most alluring. She wanted to feel him take her to that edge. The edge where life met death, where colour met the absence of it, where light met the darkness. She wanted him to bring her to this brink, and she wanted him to let her fall. Why? She longed for self-destruction. She longed to let him show her his darkest, so that she could save him. She had the delusion, no...she was disillusioned. She knew the truth. She also knew that loving him and wanting to save him, to be some sick twisted heaven sent angel was her truest wish. She knew that she could do no saving. She couldn't even save herself, how could she save someone else? She wanted to encapture his heart. She wanted to destroy it, and she wanted to burn him down. Why? So she could watch him as he writhed in the ashes, and became something new. She wanted to watch him rebirth himself in those flames and ashes, like a pheonix would. Why would she want this of him? Why...because she simply could. She wanted to destroy their love, him and her along with it. She wanted to savor it forever. Some beast inside her, wanted nothing more than their destruction, so that it could smile in that darkness. That darkness within her, wanted him like nothing else could matter. She would die for his darkness, so she could bring him to the light. However, she was far from the light herself. She wanted to trade herself in for someone better than she was. She wanted to give him something in her that was pure and innocent. He knew better than that. So did she. They were drawn to each other, because they were darkness, and their darkness was a powerful force. Together they could destroy each other, along with everything else that stood in their way.

Cooking is like playing a violin. The bow is a tool used to play, as is the knives and other tools you use to prepare. (a chef's knife is even held in the same manner) Spices are the notes used in the score. The way the food is cooked and prepared is the rhythm and tempo. The ingredients are the violin themselves, ready to be played upon. The finished dish is the music played to its best melody. All of these things must be applied together at the right pace, manner, and time in order to create a flavourful rush of artwork and beauty.

Do not fear your failures. More importantly, do not fear your successes. For if you let fear cripple you from acting, then you will stay stagnant forever.

He became a dark paramour, her muse, and she knew that muses had a tendency to kill those they inspired. She could feel him seeping into her, like the chill. She knew she would never be rid of him now. She was his forever, and she didn't even know what he was thinking of.

If you're an artist, always keep at it, there will be someone out there who sees the universe and soul in what you've created. Maybe they can't afford it, but it calls them like the siren in a sea, and they've saved for months and scraped, thinking all the time about how one piece you made has moved them. You can change a person's moment with your work, don't forget that. If you're an author, someone out there has read your work. They've laughed with your characters. They've cried with them. They've escaped into your fantasy or memories, and they've been changed by you. Nothing they do afterward will be the same. You will forever make them different and who they will become. Please don't forget that. If you're a singer or musician, you inspire others. People sing when they feel great emotion. If you're one of those who bursts into song at a moment's notice, imagine what that can do to brighten someone else's day. People are listening. They see you, who you really are. They are feeling the magic of those moments with you. You never know who's life you can change. You never know who is listening. Never forget that. It doesn't matter what kind of magic you create, don't ever stop. There is beauty, pain, and so many other things that depend on you to continue. Never stop. Let the world see your magic. Perform your craft with all of the fibers of your being. Shine with your light. Edge with your darkness. Do what you must, but never stop. Your creations are a gift to the world, so give with all your might. You never know who might need it.

In books, often the bad guys have a story too, and sometimes it is just as tragic as the hero’s.

In the course of your life, you may lose people. Maybe their paths aren't meant to parallel yours. Maybe they're on their own journey, and you were only meant to start together. It's our foundations that create the basis of who we become. Maybe our paths diverged, maybe we sought different woods that held less traveled steps. We aren't meant to lead the same lives, but that doesn't mean each path doesn't lead to some different part of the same Wonderland. We are all unique, and we all need the chance to change the world in our own ways. Which decisions will you make? Where will you go? What will you give to the world? Who are you really? Isn't it time you found out? It's never too late until the race is done.

It is not God who is too busy to hear us, it is we who are too busy to hear God.

It's sad when you realize that people you've loved (whether friends, family, or loved ones) are going down paths you know you can't take. It's especially sad when you realize that it's because you don't want to take it, because you two are too different. It's sad when people who used to energize you with their presence, now only drain you with their mere words.

Taking care of those you love should never feel like a burden to you. It should never be a burden to you. If it is, you don't have the right heart about it, and you're taking all those beautiful things around you for granted. Sure, everything won't always be roses, but a family is one of the most precious things you can have. You might have to work your fingers to the bone. You might struggle. You might have to get up and smile, even when you don't feel like smiling. You may have to tell your family that things will be okay, even if you feel like you are falling apart. However, you're not the only one who sees what you're going through. You are never alone, and happiness is something you can choose even when things are going in the opposite direction of where you thing you need to be headed. Choose to see the blessings around you, instead of the bad things. It's a privilege, and something you may not always have, so treasure it. Cherish every moment like the gift it is, and work with a generous and privileged heart. (Note: Inspired by the quote in the movie 'Me Again' that says, "It's not a burden, but a privilege.")

The art of chess is akin to the art of war itself; full of strategy and cunning, yet clever placements.

The fighting was horrendous. Bloodshed and death lie everywhere around us. It was not exciting, Vindhya. It is fearsome, and we were all scared out of our wits. There is no honour in battle but to protect you, my love. We have won the gates of Grilsom and lost the fortress of Loare...but we’ve gained allies from the Knights of Scrivehrim, and enemies of the dark elves of Scryire. There is no winning in War, my sweet...only loss. People die on every side. How can any battle be won with such consequence and loss? I do not understand war. It’s so unfair, so...unjustified. We take innocent lives, yet we gain medals of highest honour and divine, sacred blessings. What is the sense of it? And even much less do I understand Andsar’s concept of celibacy in soldiers, and that they choose to stay alone their entire lives. I might understand, were the reasoning that we would leave no one behind to suffer...but there is no reason for it. They tell us we are wrong to love one another, and so they justify our love by sending me to my assured death. If anyone were to find out about us, we’d both surely be killed. Love like this, though…I believe it is worth the cost of my life, if I could only be with you one moment.

You can see opposition and imposition or you can see an opportunity. As a part of the Slytherin House, I choose to see opportunity. If you’ve chosen to see opposition, and I seize your opportunity, I assure you that it is less selfless and more self-serving. In these situations you’ll walk away thanking me, but I’ll be all the richer for reaping the benefits of my choice, while you will walk away never knowing what you could have had.

You want to know something I've learned in my life?: A lot of the people who influence you, don't have anything to their name but time and experience. It isn't the money. It isn't the fame. It's not the temporary pleasures of life that keep you sane while you're in the dark. It's Hope.
